What is SkinPen®?
SkinPen® for men is a microneedling therapy for skin. It uses an FDA-approved device called a dermal roller to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

Before Treatment
Before a SkinPen® treatment, wash your face thoroughly. Don’t apply any lotions or sunscreen before your appointment. Avoid direct sun exposure for one to two weeks.
If you have an active infection or acne flare-up, you will need to reschedule your appointment when the injection has cleared.
Drink plenty of water in the 48 hours leading up to your treatment and be sure to tell your provider about any medications, prescriptions, and herbal supplements. Certain medications can interfere with your results. Speak to a primary care doctor before stopping any prescriptions.
During Treatment
SkinPen® for men is a fast and easy procedure. Treatments usually last between 30 and 90 minutes. The exact length of your procedure will depend on the size of your treatment area.
Microneedling – especially for scars and other blemishes that penetrate deep into the skin – can cause minor pain and discomfort. A topical anesthetic is applied before SkinPen® to make the procedure as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
During the procedure, you will feel a slight vibration from the SkinPen®. Most clients do not feel any pain, but your Stadia Med Spa provider will check in with you regularly to ensure that you are comfortable and tolerating the treatment well.
You may need more than one appointment to meet your skincare goals. During your consultation, your Stadia Med Spa provider will give you an idea of how many treatments will be necessary for you. Most patients receive between two and six SkinPen® treatments about four weeks apart.
After Treatment
Recovery from SkinPen® procedures is relatively quick and painless. You should be able to leave your appointment and go right back to living your life. Common side effects include redness, swelling, and sensitivity – most of which will resolve within 48 hours.
Keep skin clear of any lotion or sunscreen for at least 6 hours. SkinPen® opens microchannels in the skin that remain open for 24 hours after your treatment. Keep the area clean and clear of skincare products that may further irritate the skin.
